This desirable lot consists of the following bayonets: 1) Sommerda 71/84 Mauser Bayonet. 1888 dated. Crossguard & scabbard have the same 38th Infantry Regiment unit marking. Crossguard marked "HESCU" & one of wooden handles marked "59/465/CO", possibly Canadian markings, as Quebec home guard used surplus 71/84 rifles. 2) German 84/98 Sawback Bayonet. Made by Samson Werk. Scabbard & leather frog present. 3) 84/98 Sawback Bayonet. Erfurt made & dated 1915. Scabbard, frog & Portapee all present. 4) WKC German Sawback Dress Bayonet. Blade has WKC marking. 5) Weyersberg Sawback Dress Bayonet. Chrome finish. Bone handles. Scabbard, frog & Portapee all present. CONDITION: All bayonets show light to moderate wear commensurate with age and use. Bayonets show some oxidation to the finish, as do the scabbards. Some shallow dents to the scabbard bodies as expected. (02-26258/MJC/BF). NON-GUN. $1200-1800.
